Silent Evolution…

by datGurl!

I am speechless.
Utterly.
This man, Jason deCaires Tayloris a genius. He has created an underwater ‘menagerie’ of beautiful sculptures, you just have to see.

image

The life-size pieces were created to honor the African slaves who either were forced thrown overboard, or jumped on they own to escape bondage and torture on they way to America.

image

They are truly beautiful to behold. The detail is unbelievable, and when you get into the moment, I think you’ll know what I mean.
image

There are about 80 of them; all created out of artificial reefs disguised as sculptures, actually.  And underwater.

image

I think that is soooooo phuckn tha shyt!!!)@&$$%_€¥>¥!!!!

image

They located off the coast of Molilnere Bay in the waters of Grenada.

Sunlight penetratin’ the water at different depths and angles, and the water currents movin’ are said to cast the most enchantin’ kalidiscope…

Check this guy out.  He has other projects, equally awesome…

The Tea Party. Again.

by datGurl!

*looks like we never gonna get past it...*

True Early Mornin’ Bullshyt.  Flagrant F*ckery.
The Tennessee Tea Party has announced they want to “remove all incidents of slavery and genocide from American textbooks,”  because they think it will tarnish the images of the Founding FathersWho all owned slaves…

Just erase the existence and legacy of the brave Black folks they chased down and forced into servitude, tarred and feathered, raped and brutalized?  The Indians they robbed and killed to take their land? Act as if none of this ever happen ed, and these people didn’t/ don’t exist?

These racist mofos want to basically erase evidence of their racism.

“Neglect and outright ill will have distorted the teaching of the history and character of the United States. We seek to compel the teaching of students in Tennessee the truth regarding the history of our nation and the nature of its government.”

The same thing almost that Texas (another racist majority state) tried to do with textbooks and history.  They wanted the history of slavery and their hand in it, watered down”.  Whitewashed.

Whyte folks think they can run everything, even down to what a person thinks and feels.  Do they think that waterin’ down, ommittin’ or even out right lyin’ about slavery is gonna erase the pain slavery caused?   Do they think because they choose to ignore that it existed, it will put the families separated by being sold to different owners back together,  ‘legitimize’ the illegitimate children these plantation owners and overseers sired all over the place will finally get to know and be a part of the ‘white side’ of their father’s families?  Bring back those who were murdered?  Ease the painful memories?  Cease to exist?  Never happened?

The Election of Bam ’shook the tree and a lot of racist nuts fell out, bringin’ racist bullshyt to the table.   And since then they have gone back to 1960′s way of thinkin’.   Insane,  ridiculous bullshyt, all tinged with bigotry.  Racism is now worn on the forehead instead of hidden in a small circle of friends.  This shyt here is on top of the list.

How you gonna just erase and re-write history? And what about that?  Are they gonna try to erase the fact that a Black Man was elected POTUS?  The fact that he (will) serve two terms? How they plan to pull that one off?

I wish they would just sit down and STFU…

Question for the masses:

by datGurl!

If your child came home and told you that durin’ a  history lesson today in school, he got to be a slave and was sold at a slave auction, and bought by his lil pink friend Timmy, how would you react?

That’s the story kids in Jessica Boyle’s fourth-grade class went home with earlier this month.    According to The Post, this lame-brain with a teachin’ certificate,  ordered black and mixed-race students to one side of the classroom, and then the lil white kids took turns ‘buying them‘.    This is part of a Civil War lesson.

This is sooooo ugly on all levels.

Of course parents complained but the Head Bytch of Sewell Point, Mary Wrushen while acknowledgin’ the chicken head had gone too far, defended her, sayin’ her actions were well intended ‘to meet instructional objectives’.  Well what part of these ‘objectives’ is structured to inflict emotional and psychological harm – like the thought that the dark ones are worth less, compared to the lil pink Becky’s and Brad’s- on my child?  Any child?

Yes, Im an idiot...

The board chairman, Kirk Houston, who knew nothin’ about this till it hit the fan, sounds like he has a lil act right. “Mock slave auctions involving children are absolutely unacceptable in a classroom. At this point this is a personnel matter, and the School Board will monitor its outcome.” I hope this means this broad’s employment ops are bein’ reviewed, and the outcome is her ass linin’ up at  the unemployment office.

What a dayumm idiot.  I think she ‘accidentally’ let her racist panties show at work.   There is no way anybody would have made a rational decision to do some shyt like this.   Apparently she’s not rational…

It’s sad that the racial climate in this country has eroded to this, where people can just randomly do or say inflammatory shyt like this .

Glenn Beck on Slavery. WTF?

by datGurl!

Fox News has finally gone to shyt (I thought they were already there, myself…) on the coattails of America’s Biggest Asshole, Glenn Beck.

I cant believe this cretin had the balls to say on national TV, that “slavery was an innocent idea, till government stepped in.”

WTF could he possibly mean by ‘innocent idea??”  What is wrong with this man??

See, he is one of those pink people who find nothing wrong with kidnappin’ folks from their homes, yokin’ them like cattle and drive ‘em to work in fields.  He sees nothin’ wrong with whippin’ a man till his back is in shred of blood and flesh?  He sees nothin’ wrong with forcin’ a person into servitude simply because of the color of their skin (and they too lazy to do the work themselves)?

He and his passel of moronic, inbred under-educated idiots should be put to death.  This is the typical mormon mindset.  Shyt, it was just in the last 30 years that they even allowed a Black person to join their organization, though I will never understand why they would want to.

“…it started small, and it started with seemingly innocent ideas. And then a little court order here, and a court order there and a little regulation here and a little more regulation there.  And before we knew it, America had slavery.”

(WTF!!    Does he truly believe that?)

It (slavery) didn’t come over in a ship to begin with, as an evil slave trade. The government began to regulate things because the people needed answers and needed solutions. It started in a court room then it went to the legislatures. That’s how slavery began. And it took a long time to enslave an entire race of people, and convince another race of people that they were somehow or another, less than them.   But it can be done.”

Well- excuse me!  I thought slavery began when y’all chased those black folks down, shackled ‘em, threw ‘em in the bottom of that ship and brought them unwillingly to a life of service.  They didn’t hold any ‘court hearin’” before all that, did they?

“It didn’t take no long time to enslave an entire race of people.”

(Mofo, they were enslaved from that day on.  WTF are you talkin’  about???)

Mr. Beck says an apology for slavery would be an ‘affront to the principles of Christianity.”   And just how would that be?  I thought Christians were all for treatin’  the fellow-man with the same respect expected?  What happened  to all that ‘love thy neighbor ‘ shyt?

This man is lumped in the same catagory as Rush Limbaugh’s drug-soaked ass as far as I’m concerned.  A racist idiot with an audience of other racist idiots.

Why is he still relevant?

Cane River ♥

by datGurl!

I read this book somewhere around 2005 and have ‘picked it up’ again!    I enjoyed this book so much, the last time I read it, I devoured it in about day-& a 1/2!

It was that good.

This book is a ‘act of love’ by Lalita Tademy.    This woman quit her corporate job as VP and General Manager at  “a Fortune 500 high technology company ” in Silicon Valley, to find each root, each branch of her family tree.  She traveled to Louisiana, and spoke with people and gathered documents; she “did that” and the results is “Cane River”

The story centers on the lives of four generations of ‘colored’ Creole slave women in Louisiana, women from whom she descended.  The story follows them thru generations of love, hurt, injustice, and redemption.    She even has authentic documents and writings of , and about her fam-bam.     I believe she follows the family from their start on the Derbanne plantation, all the way to the 70′s.    This book is almost like the ‘Female’ Roots…

Oprah Winfrey  selected the novel as her summer book pick in 2001.

::I think you should read it~::

“I look forward to the succeeding chapters of my own life, eager to know what comes next.”

Open Letter To Limbaugh: What’d You Say About Slavery?

by datGurl!

rush                                                                                 It’s been reported in the news lately, that Rush Limbaugh, resident racist and all around Obama-hater, had put in a bid to purchase an NFL team.  I did think at the time: “Why is that, now?  Most NFL teams are 70% Black .  You hate Blacks, Rush.  What gives?”

 Then I dismissed it.

Then  the news this  morning stated that he was no longer “in the running.”  Well thats not the end of it…   Casey Gane-McCalla,  assistant editor for NewsOne, ( He previously worked as a teacher/community organizer in the South Bronx and as a Hip Hop artist) wrote an open letter to Rush Limbaugh.  Here it is in its entirety:

Dear Rush Limbaugh,

One year ago, I made a post called Top 10 Racist Limbaugh Quotes, after you decided to say that Colin Powell’s endorsement of Barack Obama was all about race. I thoroughly researched your background and history as a Top 40 shock jock and right wing mouthpiece to find some of your other comments about race.

I guess your racism has finally came back to haunt you. Too bad, you won’t be an NFL owner.   Why would you want to buy a team full of Black men who look like the Bloods and the Crips anyways?

I realize you probably thought that your comments would never come back to hurt you. Given that Blacks are only 12% on the population, “who cares?”

I’ve read on your site that you’re distancing yourselves from  the racist comment about slavery that I attributed to you in my Top 10 Racist Limbaugh Quotes. Here’s what you said:

Dawn said to me during the break here, “You didn’t deny what they’re saying you said about slavery!” I’m not going to dignify it by denying it.  Deny it? (The old trick of not dignifying an allegation because you know its true. Just deny it if you didn’t say it)

And, you know, you say a lot of things in the course of 15 hours a week, over the course of 21 years.  We’ve gone back, we have looked at everything we have.  There is not even an inkling that any words in this quote are accurate.  It’s outrageous, but it’s totally predictable.

Maybe if you went back further to your career as shock jock, Jeff Christie, 30 years ago, you might have better luck finding the quote.

If you are certain you never made those comments, I suggest you sue Jack Huberman and his publisher, Nation Books for libel, as you are quoted in his book, 101 People Who Are Really Screwing America, saying:

I mean, let’s face it, we didn’t have slavery in this country for over 100 years because it was a bad thing. Quite the opposite: slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back; I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark.

Given libel laws, if you did not say this, you should file a lawsuit and clear your name, as it was printed in a book as well as a popular website. If you successfully sue for libel, I will promptly remove the quote from my Top 10 Racist Limbaugh Quotes and replace it with one of your many other racist comments.

I don’t buy your humor excuse for your racist comments. A racist joke is still racist. Consistently, Black people are the butts of your jokes. The points of your jokes are not that racism is funny or wrong. The points of your jokes are that Black people are inferior to white people.

If you were an actor playing a fat racist, right wing bigot, like  Cobert or Sasha Baron Cohen playing Stephen Colbert or Borat, you’d be one of my favorite comedians. But you aren’t, and the millions of people who listen to you and follow your racist Republican views believe you’re the real deal, and take on your racist views as their own.

Anyways, here’s my Top 10 Racist Limbaugh Quotes, complete with their sources. If you have any problem with any of the quotes, I suggest you contact the sources.

If the slavery quote attributed to you is false, I humbly apologize, Hopefully you will apologize for the other nine racist quotes that are fully verified, which you have not denied, as well as the many other racist comments you have made in your career.

For the sake of the millions of people who blindly follow you, I hope you didn’t make that comment about slavery.  Still it falls in line with your tradition of racist rhetoric, so I am hardly surprised that you would’ve said it.

Sincerely,

Casey Gane-McCalla

I like this guy!   He basically called Rush out, and said everything I wanted to say.  I’m glad it was an ‘open’ letter…

Otherwise we may have never know it existed…

Rush Limbaugh is a buffoon.

You go, Casey!
