R.I.P Sistah Gurl

Woke up to bad news this morning.  Teena Marie,  (real name Mary Christine Brockert), that white gurl with the bad ass voice,  has passed away.   She was found dead in her Pasadena home on Sunday.    Her manager,  Mike Gardner,  confirmed  she was found by her daughter,  after apparently dying in her sleep.

“Teena was a black voice trapped in a white body,” -  Cathy Hughes, founder of Radio One

Lady Tee’s  last album, “Congo Square,” was titled after a historical meeting place for slaves in New Orleans, featured a tribute to Martin Luther King’s widow and also song “Black Cool,” written for President Barack Obama.    Her first hit, was “I’m A Sucker for Your Love“.
 
Some of her most fierce hits included “Lovergirl,” Square Biz” (my fav!)  and the scorching duet “Fire and Desire” with mentor Rick James.   The list goes on…

She is survived by her daughter, Alia Rose, who, as of 2009, performs  under the name Rose Le Beau.

Recent reports say her health is ‘declinin’…

Fans held a candle light vigil and prayer for her last night in downtown Detroit.  Last month, she canceled all of her concert dates and appearances all the way out to May 2011.  Doctors orders.  This must be pretty serious…

No one’s talkin about the exact nature of this ‘illness’.

The Queen couldn’t come to the vigil (of course) but did send her love and appreciation to her fans, lettin’  them know all prayers are good.

The procedure is schedule for today.  Lets all pray she comes thru it with flyin’ colors, and gets back to the music.

EX-CLU-SIVE! BEY & THE CAMEL ARE PREGNANT!

Yep, folks’ Sasha‘ and ‘Hov‘ are finally preggers!   And this time I believe its legit!

‘Sources’ (US Weekly, TheFABLife) report that 29 yr old Beyonce Knowles is pregnant with her first child.  It supposedly came as a surprise (when you beat this brakes raw, this is usually what happens!)

Bey was shocked and said that while she loves kids, she really wanted to “finish her album and tour the world again.”   (That sounds a lil negative)   But at any rate she cleared that up and said she realizes this is “a gift from God,”  and is happy.   They also said she is in her 1st trimester. 

I TOLD Y’ALL!

Back in May, I posted that Bey looked like she was sportin’ a baby bump.   Her,  Jay and they “peoples” denied it.  Well since she probably gettin’ a lil thicker and thangs gettin’ harder to hide, I guess they hadda come clean.  That would seem about right, give or take some spinnin’ by her and Hov’s  P.R.  people

Wow.  I wonder what the baby will look like.  I truly hope Bey pulls this kid outta the fire.  While I love me some Hov, he still is a CrunchBerry Beast.   I’m gon’ pray on that.

I’m truly happy for them (altho I also truly hate on Bey’s life like a mofo; she has my ass, my career and my money- she can keep The Camel!)  They are truly in love,  and Hov wants a baby so bad.  Its time; Hov aint gettin no younger.  He pushin’ 40+, and needs to get the gene pool started. 

Now,  Im wonderin’  if the baby(s) will  a Carter-Knowles or a  Knowles-Carter?

“Swizz-a-Licia” Creates Life

According to sources (bossip n’ nem…), Alicia Keyes and Swizz  “The Mosquito” Beatz  gave birth late last night at New York’s St. Luke’s Roosevelt hospital .   Sources say the child is a baby boy and they did name that lil boy “Egypt “  Dauode Dean. 

(I’m kinda cool with the ‘Dean” part, but isn’t ‘Egypt” a girls name?  And what the h3ll is “Dauode”, and how do you say it?) )

 Baby conceived in sin and lies.   What a way to enter the universe.   Now we will see how SHE feels about one of Swizz’s other’ Baby Mama’s' tryin’  to convince her  ”Lil Egypt”  to call her ‘Mama’.

I wonder which gossip rag will get the “First Pics” and how much “Swizz-a-Licia” will sell them for…
