Really…?

Here’s one for you:  I’ve found out that here in Texas, atleast this part I’m in, are dealin’ in death.

The other day, I was sittin’ on my lil patio mindin’ my own, when I see the leasing office guy ride up on the golf cart they jet around the complex in, and get off at the apartment below me. He’s lookin’ all official, so I paid attention.

He used his key and went into the apartment. He was in there messin’ around for about 5-10 minutes. When he came out, he was carryin’ this man’s flat screen, and loaded onto the cart! While I’m takin’ all this in, he goes back in and comes back out with the computer and two DVD players.

Ok…

So I ask the lil twerp ( he is a twerp; he has “little man” issues) what was up. This is what he told me: “If the tenant falls far enough behind on rent, we are able to confiscate property equal to the value of monies owed and hold said property in lien till aforesaid monies are tendered or items are sold to cover the outstanding obligation.”

Just like that, with his official ass. And proceeded to go back in and removed the rest of this man’s electronics, movies and CD’s, a jacket and some shoes! Then the smart ass twerp with the lil man issues told me to check my lease.

And put a boot on the door.

I did check my lease, and yep, it’s there. This is some Texas shyt. Nobody in Cali, where I’m from, is goin’ for this! Do you know how many caps would bust over this? O.M.G.

So I’m askin’ the masses; Have you ever heard of this as a legal form of collecting rent? Is this somethin’ they doin’ in your town and if so (dayumm!) where do you live?

I think this is so bizarre. Fortunately for me I’m one of those who pays her rent, on time and in full. Sometimes early. But this shyt here would definitely make me mend my ways if I wasn’t. I would be one of those who’d go twirlin’ up on that office goin’ off, and end up in jail.

R.I.P Sistah Gurl

Woke up to bad news this morning.  Teena Marie,  (real name Mary Christine Brockert), that white gurl with the bad ass voice,  has passed away.   She was found dead in her Pasadena home on Sunday.    Her manager,  Mike Gardner,  confirmed  she was found by her daughter,  after apparently dying in her sleep.

“Teena was a black voice trapped in a white body,” -  Cathy Hughes, founder of Radio One

Lady Tee’s  last album, “Congo Square,” was titled after a historical meeting place for slaves in New Orleans, featured a tribute to Martin Luther King’s widow and also song “Black Cool,” written for President Barack Obama.    Her first hit, was “I’m A Sucker for Your Love“.
 
Some of her most fierce hits included “Lovergirl,” Square Biz” (my fav!)  and the scorching duet “Fire and Desire” with mentor Rick James.   The list goes on…

She is survived by her daughter, Alia Rose, who, as of 2009, performs  under the name Rose Le Beau.

The Stupid HR Mgr and Social Networkin’

See, this is exactly why people have to stop postin’  their entire life stories on sites like Facebook and Twitter.  The wrong people might see it…

A woman in Staten Isle, NY decided to perp a fraud and then brought the whole thing crashin’ down,  amongst other things, on FB.   Rebecca Thybulle handed her boss a copy of a court jury summons, that instructed her to call a number that will tell her when and where to report.  The next day Becky didn’t show up for work and on the third day called her boss sayin’ she was ‘picked for jury duty on a vehicular homicide case.  Bytch was gone for EIGHT entire days.

She is the Human Resources Manager at the Amboy Road offices of   the Children’s Home Intervention Programs, a state-funded program for autistic kids.

What busted the dummy was that she left evidence to the fact she had changed the date and name on the actual summons.  Sittin’ right out on her desk.  It was issued to her father,  Robert,  who lives at the same address.   A month ago.

She also had the summons come from Richmond County,  instead of the state.  The state normally issue court summons, idiot.

Meanwhile,  this rocket scientist is postin’  on FB, “Bmore bound” and  ”Off to Fogo de Chao then going to see Kevin Hart perform.”  Fogo de Chao is a Brazilian restaurant, and Kevin Hart is a comedian who was performin’  in Baltimore (“Bmore”) that night.   She even said on FB that she didn’t see the show because it was sold out!  What a clod…

She was arrested when she came tippin’ up into her office  the 9th day,  like everything was peachy.

Now she’s facin’ 14 years in the slammer for two counts each of second-degree forgery and second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.   She even tried to justify her lil faus pas by sayin’ “I needed to take some personal time off.   My boss would not allow me to without a good excuse, and even then would badger you about it.”    Compared to 14 years in prison?  Badger me any day.

It’s not like she needed this shyt.   Her plate is already full.  In about 3 weeks, she’s bein’ sentenced for attempted grand larceny-the theft of $6400-  from a company she worked at as payroll manager.  She was convicted in 2002 of skimmin’ $25Thou-Wow off the books of a home for the elderly, where she was also the payroll manager.

She has two problems.  One, she can’t seem to keep her hands off other folks money, and two, she has absolutely no common sense , what so ever.

Po’ thang.

“Chili’s”, Anyone?

I’ve never really been a fan of Chili’s restaurant; they aiight.  I can take em’ or leave em’.   But after these two snippets, I may be ‘leavin’ em…

A 27-year-old woman was sittin’ in a Jackson, MS  Chili’s, eatin’ her food and mindin’ her own business.  Suddenly she’s the subject of a beat down, issued by a man and a woman she didn’t even know! 

Come to find out, she was mistaken for someone else who had funk with one of the employees, who made a phone call and summoned the “crew”.  After ‘an internal investigation, Big Mouth and one other employee were terminated…

 Lawsuit to follow, I’m sure.

A 32-yr-old employee of a Arroyo Grande  CA Chili’s is about to be charged with using a concealed video camera to record a person in a public restroom.  Isreal Mojica is accused of settin’ up a cell phone in the women’s bathroom pointin’ towards the toilets.

A woman said she was usin’ the bathroom when she noticed a cell phone in the wastebasket inside the stall with the cam lens pointed in the direction of the works.  She called the manager, who called 5.0 and told them an employee had been in the bathroom just prior to the woman goin’ in.  Dummy.  That must have been when he set up the cam.   Isreal  was busted.

He could spend a year in lockdown for this.

Gold Diggin’ For Nuthin’?

We all know there is a legal battle of the wits, with folks tryin’ to get they hands on Gary Coleman’s Dead Man’s Bread. 

 There is the Ex-Wifey a.k.a Chicken Head, Shannon Price, who although she was divorced from the lil dude at the time of his death, is now claimin’ rights to all that is Gary.  She claims they planned to remarry, altho I dont know what the fugg that means to anything…

Then theres Dion Mial, the former manager , the one who is listed in his 1999 will.   “I wholeheartedly believe there was foul play here. There are criminal intentions relative to Gary’s death.”  

I do too, boo.  That’s just what that is. 

Another will has surfaced.  a  2007 (handwritten one!) will, that names Chicken Head as the one gettin’ all the gold.   A mouthpiece for Gary’s former girlfriend, Anna Gray,  filed documents with the court Friday, saying she was named in a 2005 will.    The plot just keeps gettin’ thicker.

His adoptive parents are involved too  tho, he settled a lawsuit with them in ’93 for trickin off his money.   They want custody of his ‘remains’, and estate.    Chicken Head’s  parents (who did paid interviews within hours of his death!) are even involved, claimin’ they were such a happy family, and that they should get the ashes to take them on a “train tour“.    They claim that this would be an ‘appropriat’e memorial since he was so in love with model trains.   This is what he wanted.

But right now,  we’re just hoping and praying as a family that we can get those ashes because we are Gary’s family and Gary was a part of our family. We do want those ashes with us so we can do some of the things he wanted done.”

Bull-hockey.  That’s Chicken Head’s daddy Dale talkin’.  Hmmm….  And I wonder how much the price of admission will be…

Given the fact that this Chicken Head pulled the plug on ‘Arnold’ within 24 hrs of him goin’ into a coma, altho his med directive said he wanted to be kept alive for 15 days, and that ONLY in the event the coma was irreversible, should he be unplugged.  TWO doctors had to come to that conclusion.  

I’m still not really sure she had the legal right to unplug him, she was aware of that document and what it said.    And then she’s sellin’ death bed pics….   But this might all be for nuthin’ anyway.

We know lil man wasn’t really workin’ that much in the last days, and had been sued by a few folks.  And he owes a lot to doctors and hospitals at an estimate of $150-200 Thou-wow.    He’s always had issues with his kidneys and did dialysis 3x a week, and had major heart surgery in November and lived in a hospice for a while.   There might go all the money.

It’s a shame; the lil guy felt vultures nippin’ at him in life and they still tryin to chew on his ass in death.

All the posturin’ and makin moves, and all the winner might get is the ashes. 

 They might get to kiss his ass after all.

Bey is real close to her mom, Tina, and hasn’t spoken to her father since the shyt hit the fan about Baby Nixon, his love(?)child with celebrity hoe/groupie/home wrecker Alexsandra Wright.  

When the DNA test confirmed he IS the father, that really flucked things up.

(Tina is tired to his shyt and ‘prolly just decided not to take it anymore.  There are ‘rumors’ that Kelly is his too, ya know.    They just kept that secret…)

The Gary Coleman News…

...the way I'd like to remember him.

Now I’m always thinkin’ some shyt, and today is no different. 

I’ve been readin’ and watchin’ The Gary Coleman News these last days, especially the fact that Wifey IS NOT mentioned in the will.   So I’m wonderin’ if Wifey knew this before she kicked his ass and threw him down those stairs?  

Now that his 1999 will, filed in Utah,  names a friend and former manager, Dion Mial,  as executor of his estate and doesn’t even mention Miss Shannon, if she did  that might be all for nothing. 

The will was drawn before he met and married Miss Shannon, but she feels like she should have action at his bread.   This chick is already talkin’ to lawyers…  Wow.   She claims “Gary would have wanted her to have everything,”  And claims she has 2007 will sayin’ that.  (Part of the plan?)   

Ok they were divorced, but still livin’ together (Wow-the police would be there every night if that were me!).  She was named in the health directive.    She’s the one order the plug pulled.  .

The will also order that he be cremated after a wake “conducted by people who had no financial ties to the him, who can look each other in the eyes and say they really cared personally for Gary Coleman, “  (Tryin’ to shake the haters!).  

He also wanted none of the paparazzi, that followed every legal, financial, health and marriage problems through his adult life,  to be allowed to attend.  (Guess he felt they had enough pics and print on him; let him ride this last trip out on his own…)

People are already sayin’ she’s tryin’ to profit off his death and the publicity it has created.  Not to mention the bytch sold his deathbed photos to The Globe-one of the biggest rags in circulation!- for $10Racks (Thou-wow!) , but claims to NOT know how they got published.  A leak?  BITCH how you gonna claim a leak and YOU IN THE PIC??  ( I refuse to post that awful pic.  How disrespectful!) 

Reports say his main asset is his $315,000 home in Utah-(how a negro pick UTAH,  of all places to settle in?  And with a White woman at that?).   And after his medical and funeral bill get paid, sounds like aint much left…  

The drama begins.

Sly used to be the shyt! 

I remember when they were somethin’ new, a Black Rock Band.  And we was like: Whaddah3ll is that?  They was outta SF and multi-cultural it was some of everything here…

 They recorded five Billboard Hot 100 hits which reached the top 10, and four ground-breaking albums.

But I guess that star has faded.

He was supposed to perform in the Gobi Tent at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival last night.

He was supposed to be there at 7, but when he didn’t show up, after repeatedly postponin’ the show they tweeted that he has move to another tent and was startin’ at 10:45. 

Still no Sly.

He finally showed up well after 11 pm,
 
He came out, sat down in his office-like chair behind the keyboard and the band was ready.

But then he stood up and started talking about his lawsuit, describing himself with a racial term.

He said people shouldn’t be slanderous, but then said he was going to be, and called out Jerry Goldstein, his ex-manager who he filed a $50 million lawsuit against in January. Stone is alleging fraud and stolen royalties in the suit.

He ranted that he didn’t have money and had been living in hotels, but that it was starting to get straightened out and he could buy shoes now.  He showed off black leather shoes with laces to the crowd.  Then he sat down on the edge of the stage and rocked back and forth and told the crowd he wanted them to hear his new music and got upset when the band couldn’t play the tracks off the computer and started making up more lyrics…

They finally tried a few songs, failed miserably.  Show was over at 12 midnight, a train wreck.

The TWIC Debacle

My Last Day on the Plantation. 

::THE pain in the ass::

Well folks, I am released from Purgatory.    Jan 22nd was my last day at my job.    They moved the project to Fredericksburg VA, where TSA is based.  This was due to some internal bullshyt, but is ok with me. 

This job was miserable and depressin’.    This was a call center that took calls for TSA for the TWIC card.    This is a card that someone between TSA and Dept of Homeland Security, (and implemented by Lockheed Martin) sat up one day and decided to mandate that all “transportation workers” (and that list is growing on the daily!) are required to have this ‘credential’ basically  as a condition of their employment. 

At cost of $132.50.  

TSA urged these people to apply for this card with a deadline of April 15, 2009.  ( The mandate was prototyped in 2007)    Of course that day has come and gone, and people are still applying and waitin’ for cards to date.    Some of the enrollment centers required folks to drive across state lines to apply, and you had to return there to pick up the card, since they will not mail them out… 

They told these people who once they applied they would have their cards within 6-8 weeks.    If they had to file a ‘appeal or waiver’, which means that they have found something in their background questionable,  that would be decided within 25 days (that statement has since been taken off the TSA site, since it surely is untrue).    Well the person (Trusted Worker, they are called) can expect to wait on, the average I’ve seen, 8-9 months;  there are people who  applied for this card in 2007, and still do not have a card.    What this means is that these people cannot go to work and feed their families during this time.  

This card was also made mandatory for Merchant Mariners.   This means they had to apply for another card to carry to work,  or not work at all.   Since they and HME have a ‘comparable background check’ they were charged $105.25 and MIGHT get their cards sooner.    Not always the case. 

Thats where it got depressing.   We took the calls from people who had not heard anything about their card status in over a year, and having lost their jobs, are now losin’ their cars, homes, and in one guy’s case, his whole family because he could not support them.    His wife left him and took the kids….all over this dayumm card.    If in their frustration they wanted to speak with a supervisor, we were to tell them that the supervisor will give the same infor to  try to deter them from asking for the sup.  If they persisted we took down “call back” info;  they rarely (never) got that call back… 

TSA is makin’ mistakes as well.    The Agents in the enrollment centers (from temp agencies with little/no  training) are losing information, misspelling TW’s names, and mis-filing applications.    The fingerprint thingy failed in alot of centers, and that caused delays.    All this costs the TW eons of time,  because they either have to wait for them to ‘locate the enrollment’ or re-apply all together.     Another 6 months waiting and out of work…  

We ‘escalate’ the tickets and TSA does not even touch them for 3-4 months.   The card status online (when the site is not 404!) has not been updated almost since the day the TW applied.     There was one while that someone from TSA (not sayin their name) was closing the tickets and saying they were duplicates and to search for them by Application ID.   Well since you closed the ticket why not include the actual ticket number instead of adding more drama to the rep by asking them to search for something that could have been included on a system that doesn’t work?    This all before she re-opened them days/weeks later, with a note, apologizing that this was done in error.     These workers don’t have time for errors.  

I took a call one day from a guy in Idaho, who’d never been anywhere in his life but there, yet TSA told him he needed to explain his birth in Algiers!    This means he had to file the fatal “appeal and waiver”, which had taken at the time of the call, already 10 months with no answer.    All because someone made a mistake. 

The Appeal & Waiver process is deeply flawed.    Not only do they take inordinate amounts of time to ‘depose’ these requests, they are wrongly assessin’ folks; people are getting the Initial Determination letter, and are not aliens and do not have criminal records.    If you don’t answer the letter in 60 days (but they can take a year!) they will close your case “without action”-which means you have to WRITE A LETTER to TSA and ‘request they re-open your case!   WTF?    They are also closing cases before the TW even gets the letter,  before the 60 days have passed, and by mistake since some of the people HAVE NOT RECEIVED a letter in the first place! 

NELP (National Employment Law Project) released a study last June, that 10,000+ workers had lost their job by the time that study was created…all due to this dayumm card and the missteps of TSA and Lockheed Martin.    And these people are impactin’ the UI numbers as well but for a different reason.   Not because there IS no work and they’re not able and ready, but because they CAN’T  take the job…because of this card.    These numbers are blamed on Obama too, tho its the fault of the aforementioned entities.. 

They  have no recourse, since they are being told they cannot bring any action against The Government. 

Meanwhile we are locked down to a 4.50 min handle time, while we searched for the ticket number (90% of the callers didn’t have it!) stated and spelled back everything on the ticket, searched for the App ID (that 90% didn’t have!)  BEFORE we handled the callers issue,  and raked over the coals for misspelled words or grammar , (yet Lockheed Martin couldn’t spell a lick, and thats all the way up to the top guy!), or missin’ that impossible handle time workin on an application that spent more time hangin’ on the screen frozen or with CGI errors than anything else…    They have no idea how to run a call center.  At all. 

I would have to come home and ‘de-program’ and get my head together.  I’ve been in Customer Service for a long time.    This was not Customer Service as I knew it;  a manager there told me once that we ARE NOT customer service; we are the ‘Help Desk’-all we are to do is tell them the (flawed and incorrect) information we see on then screen and get them off the phone.   I’m guessin’ that was due to  Lockheed  payin them by ticket we produced on each call.    Help my ass;  I’m not used to that.   

I hated even goin’ there every day, my attitude and energy  sank the closer I got to the building every mornin’ .     I was losin’ sleep and havin’ frequent headaches.    I took a 30-day leave back in August, just due to the stress…

They offered us positions in other departments.    I turned that down and took the attractive severance pkg, and my investments in the company.  We will also get UI since we are statused as ‘laid off.’    I’m runnin off to Cali for some down time.   I will spend some time just ‘breathing’ and gettin’ my emotions in order.     It’s hard to listen to these stories these people had without emotin’ with them.     

You had to be made of stone… 

I just hope  someone gets this shyt together.
