The ex-wife of legendary 1970′s heroin dealer Frank Lucas-the inspiration for the movie “American Gangster”- was busted inside the Isla Verde hotel in Puerto Rico after ‘allegedly’ handin’ over 2 keys of coke in exchange for $60,000 in cash. Julianna Farrait’s plan was to send them to be sold on the New York City streets, while she chillin’ 2200 miles away.
Julianna was married to Lucas, the notorious Harlem heroin dealer who was arrested in January 1975 at his New Jersey home, where police seized more than half a million dollars. Lucas was convicted that year and sentenced to 40 years in prison. (Frank had seven children, one with Julianna named Francine. She entered the Witness Protection Program with Frank after he snitched on the crew, and has since started up a webpage Yellowbrickroads.org with resources for the children of imprisoned parents. See her MySpace page here.)
He was released in 1991. Julianna served 5 years in that case.
Seems it all came down when, in a recorded convo on May 11, Julianna told the snitch that she had 2 keys (4 lbs) of coke in Puerto Rico, and a friend had another 8 keys (18 lbs)if needed. On May 19, she met with the snitch in the hotel and showed the drugs. DEA charged in, and she was arrested a minute later. She is charged with conspiracy to violate narcotics laws. She had been under surveillance for the last year.
Well I guess this is a trend. Just recently NewsOne reported a 87-year-old grandmother, Ola Mae Agee, was busted on video sellin’ crack to an undercover officer back on April 30th. She’s not the oldest cappa; in 2004, a 96-yr-old in NC was busted sellin’ crack along with other family members.
I guess SSI ain’t enuff these days…
