Celebrity Justice? (Vote!)

by datGurl!

Got off easy?

Ok.

So you been on drugs since the age of 13, and finally get busted possessin’ heroin and dealin’ large amounts of methamphetamine and cocaine out of a hotel room at the trendy Gansevoort Hotel in Manhattan NY.

How much time would you think you would get?  If your name is Douglas, of the movie empire Douglas’, you get less than five years and a slap on wrist.

Cameron Douglas, son of Oscar-winning actor Michael Douglas pleaded guilty to the charges in January, and was sentenced Tuesday to 5 years to Federal prison.   This all after everybody -even Kirk’s old ass-wrote letters to the judge askin’ for leniency.  Threw around things like pressure from bein in a famous family, and tryin to measure upa caring, considerate, worthy human being.”     Ole’ Kirk even ‘hoped’ Cameron would straighten out “before he died.”

Aint that a bia?

Now if his name was Rufus Jones or Darnell Wiggins,  he’d been thrown under the jail without even a toe tag.  105 years at the least.

Yet lil Cameron will be credited for ‘time served’ (almost a year), and finish his lil 4-or-so years in the country club.  He also has “agreed to cooperate with agents of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration who are pursuing other cases“.   Uh Huh…

Translation: SNITCH on somebody else.

I Snorted Coke 40 Feet From Obama at DC Dinner!

by datGurl!

Not me silly, but this is the announcement David Cross (of  Arrested Development  fame) made during a stand up performance last night.

david-cross-peta

Cross said that he was seated “super close to the president” and seated with or near former Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, former Defense Secretary Don Rumsfeld, Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia and “the editor-in-chief of the USA Today.”

“But it’s crazy and there’s security, Secret Service is standing there,” said Cross.   ”I’ve got photos of all this. … I’m there and the president is right here and with all these people at the table” Cross snorted some coke, he said. “Maybe 40 feet from the president of the United States!”   Cross said he texted his friend to say, “No way you can ever top that!.”

Ok.  But why is this relevant?

What’s wrong with this dude?    This is not need-to-know info.  He’d better hope the DEA is not on his ass,  now that he has told the world he is a coke- head, and may be dirty in public.  This dude may have a hard time goin’ to a public bathroom now, without the paparazzi in the stall with him,  hopin’ to catch him with the spoon in his nose…

This from someone makin’ a jump to children’s movies,  having just starred in the Alvin & the Chipmunks’s remake.

Compared to the people who have snorted coke with former President Bush,  instead of “unknowingly” in his presence, this should roll off Bam’s back smoothly…

Medical Mari-joe Revamped

by datGurl!

  marijuana-1114

I dont know about any other state, but since the law was passed to allow medical mari-joe in California, users and suppliers have been gettin’ the short end of the stick.

Yeah, your now a card-carryin’ legal weed head, but the police are not seein’ it that way.  Users and suppliers are continually harassed, arrested, shut-down, you name it, the ‘authorities’ did it.

California is one of 4 states that also utilize “dispensaries” to sell medical mari-joe.  Across California there are an estimated 2,100 dispensaries, co-operatives, wellness clinics and taxi delivery services in the sector known as “cannabusiness”.     And growing.

That is more than all the Starbucks, McDonald’s and 7-Eleven outlets in the state put together.

California is smart.  If you cant beat ‘em, join ‘em.   Cali took in approx $2 billion and generated $100 million in state sales taxes during 2008.  Not bad…escpecially given the fact that they done went broke a coupla times this year…

Anyway…today it was announced Federal drug agents won’t pursue weed-smoking patients or their sanctioned suppliers in states that allow medical mari-joe, under new legal guidelines to be issued Monday by the Bam administration.

The new policy basically tells prosecutors it is a good use of their time arresting people who use or provide medical mari-joe in compliance with state law.  They make it clear, tho, that agents will go after people whose distribution goes beyond what is permitted under state law;  distribute to people not eligible, or use medical mari-joe as a cover for other crimes.

While prosecutors have wide discretion in choosing which cases to pursue, it is not a good use of federal manpower to prosecute those who are without a doubt in compliance with state law.  This means, mofo, dont harass folks coz they smell like weed-go catch a crack dealer or murderer or somethin’…

(Shyt this might reduce the ‘residents’ of jails and prisons.  They are filled with people that are victims of over-zealous, G.I. Joe mofo cops, doin’ hard time for a blunt.  Especially in these Southern states.  I read a story about a young man in TN who got 17 YRS TO LIFE for testin’ positive while on probation for a $2 stick-up! (mpp.org)  Yet they give a child molester probation, and send him home to rape again/Christopher Barrios…this is a whole nutha rant.  I’ll move on for now…)

This is a complete departure of Dubya’s policies, which were basically ‘dayumm what the state law says, we lockin’ yall up regardless…’  Asshole.

Now there will be some regulation; of course they will pursue mari-joe cases which involve violence, the illegal use of firearms, selling pot to minors, money laundering or involvement in other crimes.

::look at all this weed this man got!! its a drought ova here...::

A three-page memo spelling out the policy is expected to be sent Monday to federal prosecutors in the 14 states, and also to top officials at the FBI and Drug Enforcement Administration.  We should get more facts then.

I really don’t see why they just dont go on head and legalize it.  Get it over with.  Coz that day is comin’.  I guess once the Feds figger out how to regulate it and get their cut, they will.

While this is cause to celebrate,(**yippee ki yay!**),  I still can’t help but think what the haters will have to say about this.  Repubs will be lined up on the Hill Monday to complain about this new turn of events.

Yall kno everything Bam does, is cause for alarm…

We’ll see.
