Sorry to be MIA so long with no explanation, but under the circumstances, I didn’t even have the chance to explain…
I knew the day would come, when I had to deal with the dreaded “‘Puter Blues”. I recently changed phone service providers (yes, I’m on dial-up, and? **hands on hips**) and I think I got a power surge or something. When I went to dial-up, my ISP said there is no modem. I know how to IT this comp; I’ve had it since I first hit the net in 2002, (which might be a contributing factor as well…hmmm)
So I went thru the steps of finding my modem, re-installing it, updating and rolling back driver, etc as I have done many times before. Then the ISP said that it could not connect on that port, so I synchronized the port with the settings of the ISP and that still didn’t work.
My nerves were shot to pieces! I can’t get online? OMG! Xanax please…
At this point I said “Phuck it” and decided to just get a new one. This is what took all this time. I hadda put that ish in my budget. I’m far from rich and just can’t run out and lay cheese for a new comp. Took about a month. Money still kinda low. Then I got the idea of going to the pawn shop. That was the best idea; I got a Compaq DC5100 running XP Prof, and includes Desktop Publisher, Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, InfoPath, and PowerPoint. (I’m an applications freak; Ill try anything once!) . Keyboard, and mouse included of course, and the woman threw in surround speakers and a lil webcam! For 299. + tax. AND who ever pawned it recently dropped extra memory so it’s up to 512. I made out like a fat rat, huh?
I do appreciate all the people who kept comin to my spot and sayin a lil sum-sum, and the notes; it made me feel real good. will try to holla back at each of you individually; it may take me awhile, but ya’ll deserve that. ::I love you all so much::
Well my big ass mouth is back in the house. Ya’ll cock ya .45′s and get ready!
