Here in The Lone Star, we just got thru our own versión of a Stand Your Ground Law.  I thought Florida made that shyt up; I was shocked to know Texas evidently has one too.

This Raul Rodriguez invoked this shyt when he shot and killed 36 yr old Kelly Danaher and wounded three other people. This mofo had a video camera, filmin’ as he was walkin’ up on the people standin’ in the man’s driveway.

Kelly, a Harris County school teacher, was havin’ a birthday party for his wifey, Mindy. Her birthday will never be the same…

On the vid, Rodriguez, a retired firefighter and already described by neighbors as a bully, can be heard sayin’ over and over, “I am in fear for my life! Get back, get back!”

Nobody ain’t movin’ on the vid. Next thing you hear: Shots Fired

His ass was convicted, and is in court for sentencin’ as we speak. He’s facin’ 5-to- Life. I hope he gets every second of the max.

I hope the Trayvon Martin case ends the same way. I hope Florida takes a lesson from Texas and ignores that stupid-ass law, and convicts George Zimmerman of 2nd Degree Murkin’.

Both of these cretins shot and killed unarmed men, and tried (and tryin’!) to blame it on this ancient, bullshyt-ass law some cowboy wrote in the 1800′s…

This post is dedicated to my fav neice, Tiffani Chavon Wright.   Today is her birthday.

Tiffani is special; she has a heart of gold , sometimes way to big for her own good.  Tiff is ‘Momma” to all her lil sisters and brothers (and anybody else who needs her), and always ready and willin’ to help no matter if it means gettin’ out of her bed at dark:30 to handle it.

When I first took the job at Cingular (now AT&T) I came to stay with Tif.  She opened her home to me, and didn’t ask for a thin dime.  Cooked her ass off, tho.

And I know it’s hard to live with someone who is 20+ yrs older than you,  and not want to kill them, but she did.

Her soul is pure and undriven; she loves directly from the ♥, no matter who you be, where you been, and what your about.  Everybody gets two- or three chances with Tif…

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SUGGA BABY!

Kyron is 8 today.

Sadly, his parents will celebrate his birthday without him.  The problem is that this precious lil boy is still missing.   He’s been gone for the last 3 months.   The stepmom, Terri Moulton Horman, and her friend,  Dee Dee Spicer know more than they’re tellin’.    StepMom claims she dropped him off at a science fair, and that he came up missin’ between the car and the door of the school.  Yet, this bytch is refusin’ to be interviewed,  and talks only thru her attorney.   The high-powered one she’s can’t tell anyone how she could afford. (I wonder if this bytch has sold this child into sexual slavery and spendin’ that money!?)   Somethin’ is wrong with that. 

 I’ve said it before, and I hate to say it again: Lord Jesus, this child is dead.  Otherwise why has he not been found?  Why hasn’t anyone spotted him?  Why, with all this publicity, hasnt someone-if he is bein’ held somewhere-come forward?   And don’t forget this bytch tried to hire someone to kill Kyron’s dad…

On his past birthdays, his parents, Kaine Horman and Desiree Young, would always hold two celebrations – one in Portland and one in Medford.   This year they will continue that tradition. The first celebration will be at the West Main Church of Christ in Medford, OR  at 7pm today.   Prayers and speeches and chocolate cake and ice cream.    The second event will be Sunday at the Bullwinkle’s Family Fun Center in Wilsonville, OR.    There will be an admission fee at this one, and part of the proceeds will go to The Kyron Horman Search Fund.

Anybody in the area, please attend and support this family.  It’s the right thing to do.

The 2nd Annual Benefit Concert Celebratin’ the Life of Tupac Shakur (hosted by mom Afeni Shakur and Mike Epps) will be held in Atlanta GA tonight, with performances by Mike, Rick Ross, Bun B, Too Short, Roscoe Dash (the one with the haircut!), “Pill“, and many more.  

100% of the proceeds go to benefit the Tupace Amaru Shakur Foundation. 

Advance tickets no longer available folks.   Since IT IS the day of the event (gates open at 7pm, show begins at 8pm), if you go, you gon’ have to break off 35 chips ($35).  To me it’d be worth it!

We all know his legacy:   He was a prominent leader in the Black civil rights movement.     He married Coretta in 1953 and had four children.  He led the 1955 Montgomery Bus Boycott,  and helped found the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) in 1957, servin’ as it first Prez.    The 1963 March on Washington, where he delivered his famous “I Have a Dream” speech,  raised public consciousness of the Civil Rights Movement. 

He became the youngest person to receive the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964,  for his work to end racial segregation and discrimination thru non-violence. 

He was assasinated April 4, 1968 in Memphis TN.   He would have been 81-years-old  today…

He was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1977 and Congressional Gold Medal in 2004;  “Martin Luther King, Jr. Day”  was established as a U.S. national holiday in 1986.

We have  Barack Obama, our first  Black president;  something we never thought would happen.  He, evidently,  was not judged (totally) by the color of his skin , but by the content of his magnificent character.     That tells me things are kinda changin’ …

Today is January 11th…

…and on that day in 1911, my Gran, Sister Isabell Jones was born.    Today is her birthday. 

The Queen went home on March 2, 2008, at the age of 97 years old, almost 100 years on this earth.  I still miss Gran like it was just yesterday she was sittin’ on that porch, rockin’ and lookin’ out at what the world had become,  ’in her time’….

She woulda been 99 years old today, almost that ‘Hunnit’  we talked about.    I remember tellin’ my Gran -tho by then she was ‘down in her cups’ -not really recognizin’ folks, just gettin old… that when she turned 100 years old, I would come from where ever I was, and throw her the biggest party to celebrate her life.   

I’m still sad that I didn’t get to throw that party…

According to reports,  Lil Wayne’s record  boss decided to top the briefcase filled with $1 mil cash that he gave him for his last birthday, by giving the superstar very expensive jewelery instead.

Bryan “Birdman” Williams, CEO of Cash Money Records, apparently brought his baby a Chopard  watch that is worth a staggering $1 million and and black Chopard chain, that is valued at $200,000.   He even had a cake sprinkled with diamonds.

 Today My dad is 76 years old.   I thank God he is celebrating this day  Bear with me while I get mushy… ♥

Henry James once defined life as that predicament which precedes death, and certainly nobody owes you a debt of honor or gratitude for getting him into that predicament. But a child does owe his father a debt, if Dad, having gotten him into this peck of trouble, takes off his coat and buckles down to the job of showing his daughter  how best to crash through it.   It is not flesh and blood but the heart which makes us father and daughter..
