‘Tawana Brawley’ Revisted…Or Not?

::Megan Williams and her mom, Carmen, who died June 2009::
Remember the story that broke in Sept 2007, about the girl in Logan, W.Va. who authorities said was sexually abused, beaten, forced to eat animal feces, and stabbed while being repeatedly called a racial slurs, while being held captive for at least a week?
Well, Megan Williams held a news conference yesterday, saying she lied about being assaulted, and that she fabricated the story ‘to get back at a boyfriend who had beaten her up’.
Well now, thats odd…
Because seven people pleaded guilty in the case, and all but one were sentenced to long jail terms. According to the confessions of those convicted, Williams was physically and sexually abused. She was beaten repeatedly, held against her will, burned with hot wax, stabbed in the leg, and forced to perform oral sex on at least two defendants.
Deputy Robinette (who found her) testified during the prelim against defendant Karen Burton:
When he arrived at the residence to investigate the “tip,” he saw Frankie Brewster defendant and owner of the house, on the porch. When he questioned her, she stated that she was the only person in the house. It was at that time, Deputy Robinette stated during testimony that victim Megan Williams burst out of the doors with “her arms outstretched sayings ‘help me.’”
A bruised and battered Megan Williams appeared with swollen and blood-bruised eyes, lacerations around her neck and ankles, splotches in her head where her hair had been ripped out and multiple stab wounds on her left leg. She was told, “This is what we do to niggers around here.”
How is all this a lie??
The former Logan County prosecutor Brian Abraham, who oversaw those cases, calls this new claim absurd. The seven were convicted on physical evidence and their own statements. He dismissed the news conference as a publicity stunt.

But why?
Is someone or something gettin’ to this girl? Or maybe she is so traumatized, and this is her way of not acknowledging that this happened to her…
Prosecutors in West Virginia have dismissed Williams’ new claim, and lawyers for the defendants aren’t discussing their plans.
