Black People on “Intervention”…?

2007 March 4

1.jpg    Pardon my being so blunt, (and so dayumm observant!), but I was watchin a commercial for the TV show, “Intervention“, and it dawned on me that I have never seen a Black Person on the show.  I watch the show as often as I can, so I kinda think Im an authority…I would like to think.

I mean its not like there is a shortage of drug addicts in the Black community; crack is everywhere these days, there are still Heroin addicts from the ’70’s and ’80’s around and that seems to be a drug of choice for young folks these days.   And Meth is takin the Black community by storm; people should be ready for the same epidemic that Crack  - which is still creating chaos -brought to the table…

And its not like people there dont need help.

They’re not even depicting the life of a drug addict realistically.  These people are livin like kings and queens compared to what I kno about a mofo on dope.   These people are not homeless unless they want to be.  They have families who are holding on to their children or lives while they are “on one”.  They almost all go off to some high class rehab that someone in the ghetto could not possibly afford… They’re not showing some young mother turnin’  tricks to get high or feed her kids coz she smoked up all the money.  They’re not showing the crack/meth/”hop” addict who was beaten last night over drugs…They’re not showin a mofo walkin the streets hungry, dirty,  and flucked up, with everything they own in a Kroger’s bag…

They’re not showin the ones who REALLY need help.

Another thing that gets me, besides the fact there are no Black People on the show , is that alot of these people can afford to go on their own (or with their families help) to these rehabs.  Why not help someone who is more likely not able to go to these places on their own?

Just my observation.

Such as it is…

…Commercial came on last night claiming 21 recovered addicts so far. They also showed their pics.

    Nope. None of them Black…

Just thought I would clarify that…
